Celebrating 20 Years with Julie Douglas

Please join us in celebrating Julie Douglas and her 20 years of love and service at EC3! Swing by on Thursday, February 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for an open house reception in the EC3 gym. Come for a quick visit or a long one – we’ll be serving finger food and cake.

If you can’t make it in person, how about sending a card to her attention at EC3? She’ll be thrilled either way. We’re also collecting for a monetary gift; if you wish to contribute please donate online at http://ec3kids.org/donate and put “JULIE'S GIFT” in the description field. We'd also like to present her with a commemorative brick on EC3's Building Blocks wall; if you are able to contribute toward this we would be grateful. Any funds above the necessary $250 will be added to Julie's gift fund.

Please RSVP at http://bit.ly/216EKqP if you can attend, so we can plan accordingly.

Mark your Calendar - Dr. Seuss Week & Reading Awareness Month

In March, EC3 will be celebrating Reading Awareness Month. Building-wide celebrations include a Scholastic Book Fair, and we will be honoring Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a week of silly dress-up themes (2/29 to 3/4). Individual EC3 classrooms enhance the celebration in a variety of ways – watch for details from your child’s teachers! One way you can participate is to volunteer to read a book to your child’s class, or to other classrooms in the building. For those who like to get a jump on planning, the theme days are as follows: Monday is Silly Hat Day, Tuesday is Silly Sock Day, Wednesday is Red & White Day, Thursday is Crazy Mix-Up Day, Friday is Pajama Day.

Mark your Calendar - EC3 Family Storytelling & Movie Matinee

Join us on Saturday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. in the EC3 gym for a reading month celebration. We will start off with a visit from Interactive Storyteller Karrie Korroch. Karrie will delight the kids with an unique and engaging story time. Then get cozy, grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy a screening of “Curious George Swings into Spring”. Bring blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows to sit on. Please RSVP at http://bit.ly/1TcwAMd.

Mark your Calendar - Second Wednesday Mom’s Lunch Happy Hour

Each month EC3 hosts a “mom’s lunch” on the second Wednesday. In March we are hosting a Second Wednesday “mom’s happy hour” instead! Take a break from the hustle and bustle to relax a little in the evening. Join us from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (ish) for an opportunity to meet other women and share insights about family, work, life, and everything in between! Stop in for a quick visit before picking up the kiddos, or hang for awhile and let someone else take care of dinner for the family. Please RSVP by today (3/2) at http://bit.ly/1okPRyb; we’ll select a venue when we have an idea of how many moms are coming.

Donations Needed for Silent Auction

We’ll take all the help we can get bringing in items for the silent auction portion of our Spring Auction fundraising event (April 22nd)! Please consider asking your favorite stores or vendors if they would donate an item to EC3 that can be auctioned off. Where you get your hair done, buy your golf clubs, eat out on Friday night--consider the types of things you would enjoy bidding on, then find some of them & drag them to EC3! You can download the form (and get other information) from our website at http://ec3kids.org/ec3-auction.
