EC3 Closed Monday for In-Service Training

Like most area schools, EC3 is closed on the Presidents Day holiday—but the staff will still be hard at work! Staff will spend the day receiving training on leadership and mentoring, classroom management, curriculum and assessment, allergy awareness, and emergency preparedness.

EC3 Welcomes New Board Members

EC3’s Board of Directors welcomed two new members who will begin serving two-year terms this month: Jasmine Brown-Moreland and Ryan Roberts. Their biographical information can be found with the others on the EC3 website at http://ec3kids.org/board.

If you ever have questions or concerns for EC3’s Board of Directors, Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month in the EC3 gym.

Some of EC3’s teaching staff will attend the “Coming Together for Children Early Childhood Conference” this weekend at the Causeway Bay Lansing Hotel and Conference Center. Summer Camp – Mark your Calendars!

EC3’s 2015 summer camp for school-aged kids (children who have completed kindergarten up to age 12) begins on June 8th and ends on August 27th. Much like the past several years, EC3 will offer a weekly rate ($176) and daily rate ($35.20) to accommodate the summer scheduling needs of families. We will be e-mailing information about camp and registration materials to current and former EC3 families sometime in March, but please mark your calendars and tell your friends now!

Infant & Children’s Products Recalls

It seems that every day a manufacturer of children’s clothing is issuing recalls for clothing with drawstrings that pose a strangulation hazard, or strollers and high chairs that pose pinching or falling hazards. With the kiddos having so many different types of products they use and come in contact with every day, how is one able to know if they are all safe? One easy way to keep yourself up to date on infant and children product recalls is to sign up for email alerts. Recalls.gov is a website designed to provide service in alerting people to unsafe, hazardous or defective products. Six federal agencies have joined together to create www.recalls.gov -- a "one stop shop" for U.S. Government recalls. It only takes a few minutes to sign up, and then you will be notified automatically when things such as car seats, cribs, and toys are recalled due to safety issues.

I recommend EC3 wholeheartedly, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been the utmost professional and proactive in their response and communication. They adhere to the strictest safety and sanitation protocols and it shows. Since returning our child has thrived in Toddlerland and I am grateful for the tutelage his teachers provide him and us! The quality curriculum is evident and appreciated. The teachers are treated as valued educators and this makes a noticeable difference. I know each day our child is receiving excellent care which eases our minds as we work from home to provide for our family.
