Julie Waterbury

Preschool Teacher

Julie Waterbury is a co-teacher in the Bluegill room. Julie (Mrs. J) joined EC3 in 2016 as summer support staff. Prior to EC3, Julie worked for eight years  with the Great Start Readiness Program in Lansing School District. Julie has worked in the child development field for more than twenty years at several early childhood centers, and has experience with both Creative Curriculum and High Scope.

Julie also has a 28-year music background—she has been trained through Kindermusik International and loves to incorporate both music and literacy into daily lesson plans. She has an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from Lansing Community College and Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development with a Family Systems concentration.

Julie lives in the Lansing area with her husband Joe, and three children, Liam, Marah, and Connor. 


Our child's teachers always make time to talk with us at drop-off and pick-up times. They ask about special things our child may have done that night or on the weekend. They have also used problems we have talked about (bath time, etc.) and read books about these issues to help our child.
