Chris Jackson

Board Chair

Christopher Jackson is the State Assistant Administrator for the Policy and Planning Administration of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). In this capacity, he assists in efforts to address health disparities, the social determinants of health, and systemic racism, supports advancements in health information technologies, and collaborates on a variety of strategic initiatives across MDHHS.

Previously, Chris served as the Assistant Director of Admissions at Michigan State University College of Law as well as an Attorney, Communications and Fund Development Manager, and Project Administrator at Elder Law of Michigan, Inc.

Chris holds his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law, Master of Public Affairs with a focus on Nonprofit Management and Policy Analysis from Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Indianapolis. In addition, he is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Global Health from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Chris currently lives in Lansing, MI, with his wife, Sara, and sons, Clark and Parker, where he is involved in community development, plays an active role on local club hockey teams, and enjoys weekly trivia nights. Chris loves to travel and is an avid fan of his Michigan State Spartans
